| Internet Connection Requirements
A reliable Internet connection is necessary when using an Internet Telephone Line. Internet calls require 90 kbps of consistent upload/download speed to make and receive calls. If your connection experiences any packet loss you will notice voice quality problems. A minimum connection speed of 512kbps is recommend (most cable, DSL or satellite connections are above the 512kbps). For more information, please contact our technical support. Can I bring my own device? Yes, but we can’t guarantee the quality as we have not tested all Gateway devises in the marketplace to work with our service. The unit must be able to function over SIP. If I move to another city can I take the service with me? Yes, the VoIP Gateway can be moved to any location in the world as long as a high-quality high speed internet connection is available. How do I keep track of all of the per minute charges? To make it easy to track your per minute usage simply log on to our online customer portal and get real time logs of all your calls. How do I check my voicemail? Checking your voice mail is simple. Dial *98, enter your pass code and follow the voice prompts. If you need to access your voice mail while away from home, you can dial any of our access numbers, dial *98, enter your 10 digit telephone number and follow the voice prompts. How do I enable my voicemail? If you have not received a pass code for your voice mail, contact our technical support and they will setup your voice mail. Virtual Number for the VoIP service This service allows you to have as many additional telephone numbers to your VoIP account. You can choose a number from any city as long as it's available in our number availability tool. A virtual number is for incoming calls. When dialled, it will ring to your telephone just like your primary number does. Is there caller ID blocking on my VoIP account? Yes… This feature can be enabled or disabled using the online customer portal. Can I have reverse calling and what is it? Yes you can! Reverse Calling is a unique feature whereby a caller who is not a subscriber to our service may place a call to a subscriber and not incur a long distance charge. The non-subscriber would call one of our local access numbers and then enter the telephone number of the VoIP subscriber. Our system then processes the call by calling the valid subscriber and connecting the two parties. How does reverse calling apply to the VoIP service? Reverse calling allows friends and family to call without incurring long distance charges. The subscriber must be signed up for reverse calling to use this feature. To call a VoIP account using reverse calling, you must dial one of our access numbers, wait for dial tone and dial the 10 digit telephone number of the subscriber.
